Healthy Rice Crispie Treats

3 ½ cups Heinen’s organic gluten free rice crispies cereal
½ cup Heinen’s pure organic maple syrup
⅓ cup Heinen’s creamy natural almond butter
¼ cup Equal Exchange bittersweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Line an 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Place the cereal in a large, heat-proof bowl.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup and almond butter. Stir while the mixture is heating, until the mixture comes to a light boil. Remove from the heat.
- Slowly pour the mixture into the cereal and stir until the ingredients are combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula or your hands to press into a smooth layer. Chill for one hour.
- Remove from the freezer. Heat the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds, until melted. Drizzle the chocolate over the rice crispie treats, then return to the freezer for 5 minutes, until the chocolate is set.
- Cut into squares and serve immediately.
